Chitwood Farm Hay Meadow

With the help of Turner Development, the Chitwood family, the USDA, and our friends at Land Legacy, ELC has permanently preserved a 100-acre meadow in east Edmond, complete with buffalo wallows. The conservation easement covering this scenic and historic meadow was purchased, in part, with funding from the USDA Farm and Ranchlands Protection Program, only the second such grant ever awarded in Oklahoma. ELC participated with the City of Edmond and the Oklahoma Forestry Services in the early stages of developing a green infrastructure plan for Edmond.

Arcadia Lake Trail Coalition

Arcadia Lake Trail Coalition

The Edmond Land Conservancy, a 501c(3) entity, has recently partnered with the Arcadia Lake Trail Coalition to establish a multi-use trail around Arcadia Lake by 2014, which enables walkers, joggers, and cyclists to enjoy the natural beauty of the Arcadia Lake area while preserving the native habitat and natural vegetation. The trail around Arcadia Lake will be approximately 18-20 miles long.
